Michael Gault is an award-winning landscape painter based in Woodland Park, Colorado. His distinguished career spans over five decades, beginning with early awards and inclusion in regional exhibitions at prestigious museums. Gault’s artistic journey began at age seven when he declared his intention to become an artist. After serving in the Navy during the Vietnam era, he pursued his passion at the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI), where he honed his skills under prominent instructors like Wilbur Niewald and Stan Lewis. By graduation, he had exhibited in solo shows and received accolades for his innovative work. He later earned a Master of Arts from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, studying under notable muralist Eric Bransby.

Throughout his career, Gault has balanced his studio practice with teaching and commercial ventures.. He taught art at Graceland College and Missouri Western State College while running a successful graphic arts business. A move to Colorado in the mid-1990s reignited his focus on painting full-time. His work has been featured in galleries across Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and beyond, and he has collectors worldwide, including in France, Germany, Korea, and Japan.
